In 2005, Drs. Brian and Tea Stephens upon completing their residencies in Family Medicine at Mayo Clinic decided they wanted something different from typical clinical setting for their patients. They wanted a medical practice that would be truly patient focused and would allow time needed to properly care for patients’ needs.
That’s how patient centered house call practice, Little Black Bag Medical, came to be.
With modern technology it has never been more feasible or advantageous to care for patients in the comfort and securities of their own home or office.
The deep relationships that we develop with our patients while sitting on their couches and hearing stories from family members gives us insight into our patients true lives. This drive to personalize medicine past just “numbers” and “protocols” is an important aspect of the Art of Medicine.
