Dr. Brian Stephens graduated from the Medical College of Georgia and completed residency in Family Medicine from the Mayo Clinic in Jacksonville where he received the Mayo Family Medicine Resident Teacher of the Year award in 2005. In 2010, Dr. Brian was awarded Assistant Professorship in Family Medicine at The Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences. He regularly mentors USUHS medical students and teaches about the value and abilities of modern medical house calls. He is board certified in Family Medicine and is certified in Home Care Medicine by the American Academy of Home Care Physicians. He is also a team physician with Heartland Hospice and personally directs palliative care services in terminally ill patients. Dr. Brian maintains privileges at multiple large medical centers in Jacksonville and enjoys personally admitting and attending to all of Little Black Bag Medical’s patients when they need hospitalizations. He has been practicing house call medicine since graduation and loves caring for his patients in the intimacy of their homes. Dr. Brian enjoys being an educator and regularly lectures and provides educational talks in the community.
